With the aim of further promoting Sri Lanka as a most desirable and memorable destination to the Dutch travellers and to increase the Dutch visitors to Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Embassy in the Netherlands, with the collaboration of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), made arrangements for Sri Lanka’s participation in the Vakantiebeurs Tourism Fair 2025, the annual travel fair of the Netherlands, from 8th to 15th January 2025 in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
The Sri Lanka Pavilion was opened by Rekha Gunasekera, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, together with Frank Radstake, Head of the Dutch Association of Tour Operators and Travel Agents (ANVR), the Netherlands, and other dignitaries. The Sri Lanka pavilion effectively portrayed the country’s tourism attractions from the pristine beaches to the ancient heritage sites and more. The country's unique blend of history, nature, and spirituality, earned high praise and a positive feedback from visitors who also indulged in Ceylon tea served at the tea counter.
The Sri Lanka Pavilion, featuring 20 destination management companies, namely Wanderlust Asia Pvt. Ltd., Airwing Tours (Pvt.) ltd, Best of Lanka, Beyond Boundaries & Your holiday Specialist, Arabiers Private ltd, Aitken Spence Travels Pvt Ltd., Lanka Sports Reizen, Ocean Gate travels and Tours Pvt Ltd., Hotel Lanka super Coral, BH Lanka Tours, Camlo Lanka tours Pvt Ltd, Ceylon gate travels Pvt Ltd, Ceyline travels Pvt Ltd, Esna Holidays Pvt Ltd, Ceylon Tours Ltd, Jetwing travels Pvt Ltd, Andrew the Travel company, the Fabulous Gateway, Sunway Holidays and Mai Globe travels created greater visibility and awareness about Sri Lanka among the Dutch tour operators the Dutch media personnel and travel bloggers and the general public as an attractive and family- friendly, must-visit tourist destination.
Sri Lanka has been a regular participant at this fair for many years, along with industry stakeholders, to showcase the island as a great holiday destination for Dutch travellers. With its commitment to sustainability and its diverse range of attractions, Sri Lanka continues to attract increased travellers from the Netherlands, eager to explore its enchanting landscapes and vibrant heritage.
